party in the front! (sewing party, that is...)

oonaballoona | a sewing blog | the sewing party

Sooooo.....

you wanna see what Ruggy painted that wall for?

Today the relaunch of the The Sewing Party is live, and those denim cones are too! And I mean, really, live, this skirt can actually stand up on its own. Iffn it didn't have suspenders, I suspect it would shimmy right off me and walk away in search of libation.

But it has suspenders.

AND ALL OF THE EMBROIDERY.

But you'll have to head over to The Sewing Party to see it, as you'll only get a little taste here. Mea culpa! SUCH A TEASE! It's my birthday week, so I'm totally allowed.

As if that makes any difference in my levels of brattiness.

Lots of fragmented sentences.

I'm so excited to be a part of this party, which I'll talk more about later, but for now, if you'd like to see my newbie attempts at machine embroidery in technicolor hues AAAAALL OVER the front of that denim jumper, check out The Sewing Party to see the reveal!

  8. Um...wow!! I have an embroidery machine- not with those capabilities, though. I should pull it out. You've done an amazing job. Using the right stabilizer is key, and of course practice makes perfect!

    1. so many stabilizers! i've tried a bunch, but haven't tried spray adhesive for hoopless yet... i'm a leeeeetle wary of using adhesive with this beauty, you know?

    1. HAHAHAHA!!!! the instant i saw that pattern i knew i wanted it!! and bonus: if you are small of bust, and leave the suspenders off, you can hike the skirt up and it becomes this crazyface strapless dress. i was *this close* to going with that.

  12. Hi,

Oddly, it's my birthday this week too and I also made myself a skirt with suspenders. No embroidery on mine though I did teach myself a new pocket style. Way to go! Happy Birthday!
