because i'm SLAPPY

I am Super. Loopy. Right. Now.

Could be because I marathon sewed this MAJORLY FUN Eve jacket by Schnittchen All. Day. LONG.

Actually, I enjoyed every drop of it, right down to weirdo improv binding every seam and deciding to quilt the contrasting sleeves...

(no for real, weirdo binding, topstitched 4 rows times on each side of each seam)

My own damn fault, waiting till the last minute. Or maybe it's just that reverse pyschology works best on me. Want me to sew for someone else? Ask me to take part in Selfish Sewing Week, thrown by the lovely Rachael of Imagine Gnats. Watch, as I laugh derisively at the need for a Selfish Sewing Week. I AM ALWAYS SELFISH SEWING! IT IS HOW I ROLL! Then, delight! As I use every spare minute leading up to the deadline to sew for an- (extremely special! so hugely loved! probably my muse!) -other. WHAT IS THIS UNSELFISHNESS.

In fact, sewing all week for The A-Muse (she's a laugh riot, did I mention?) made me so happy, I didn't even stress out over racing to beat the selfish clock today. In fact, I was so self assured about it, I announced I'd be throwing down a coat in a day over instagram. HAD TO. Selfish Sewing Week ends tonight, you see...

FOR ERRRRRRYBODY ELSE THAT IS

Like I said. Punchy. And yes, I took these pictures in Le Bain. Best light available after the marathon, that Ruggy knows how to DIY reno, yo.

Big sloppy thanks to Rachael, Kollabora, and Schnittchen for making me break my very own rules! YOU SLY DEVILS! Okay. My contractor's a-calling. Gotta go watch West Wing and not understand about 80% of it. More about sewing and such demain, when I recover my English, which is dodgy at the best of times. Happy Selfish Sunday Y'all!

this jacket was made using a pattern given to me in exchange for participating in Selfish Sewing Week. and a GREAT pattern it is!

You, on the other hand, churn out fabulous piece after piece after piece (I got the threes today). You are a fashion and sewing icon. You should be known everywhere! (I guess you are).

How do you keep your interest and intensity? (Sewiously. How???)

  46. Such an inspiring piece! It looks in the photos that you shortened the jacket? Can you recall any difficulties / workarounds for that? thank you!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. thanks! yes, i shortened quite a bit since i didn't have much of the technicolor wool. the pattern went together beautifully, the only issue was doing a bit of translating (instructions are in english, but some pattern pieces are labeled otherwise) via google. and that was actually fun!
