find your happy place

yesterday, three manhole covers exploded straight up like mini skyscrapers on my walk to work. today, it was 85 degrees and sunny. all manhole covers where they should be. wine currently in front of me. still stressed about every piddling little thing i can think of. anybody got a mantra they'd like to loan me?

  1. blogger ate my comment... i was confused, I googled exploding manholes nyc.... omg scary! My mantra would be the one you appear to be already using- 'bring me wine, stat!'

  2. Hello:) Just replying to the comment you left on my blog... the floral skirt is HUGE & I am only 5ft 2" tall so it's not good as a skirt on me... but I have been thinking of wearing it up high & cinching it in with a belt... as a dress... I'll let you know how it goes! I totally fell in love with the fabric though, it's so cool!!

  3. I know it's lame, but when I am super stressed (as in: now) I tell myself "This too shall pass." Somehow knowing that tough times will eventually be behind me helps me to get through the day.

If they doesn't work, tell anyone bringing you stress to "Go eff yourself." That'll make you feel better.

  4. I don't know... But it often helps to remember a song that I like. Things like "Going Home" from Local Hero - which happens not to have lyrics, actually - or some songs from the Hungarian band Misztrál, which are, of course, in Hungarian, so I don't understand them. :D And others with lyrics I can understand and remember, too, of course. :-)
And a bit of a sunny day doesn't hurt, either.

  5. i'm using all of these... currently i am listening to happy music, tonight i'm drinking MORE wine, and "this too shall pass" is being repeated, REPEATEDLY.

so far i haven't used the f yourself. but close... so close.

i thankya truly for taking the time to comment, i love a good conversation-- and hope you know my thanks are always implied, if not always written!
