maybe it's much too early in the game-- now closed; winner announced later today!

or too late in the season for giveaways. tell me true, is it a bad idea to host a blog giveaway at the end of december? and is it maybe an even WORSE idea to give already holi-dazed peeps a mere three days to enter... one of those days being christmas eve?!

i may have gotten a bit over excited.

okay. i call a do-over. because i CAN. so, if you would still like this tiny capelet, here's how to enter!

1. comment on this post telling me what you'll do with it. extra points for making me laugh.

2. follow me for another chance to win.

3. link to my giveaway on your blog for a third chance to win.

4. enter by january tenth

5. and YES, although i'm picking out of a hat, if you make me laugh you may get a prize anyway!

now, i am quite aware that the lack of entries may be due to the fact, that umm, no one likes this wee capelet. i mean, modcloth didn't like it either. no matter! i do believe it's darling and meant to grace someone's neck. so if one peep enters, then my peep, it shall be yours! if no peep enters, well then i'll cry.

no seriously i will.

see more detailed pics at the original post here.

ps: to the lovely ladies who did comment originally.... um, did you mean to enter? i couldn't tell!!! hosting a blog giveaway is HARD!!! i need coffee and croissants. luckily i have some. 'kthnxloveyoumeanitbye!

I would definitely pair this with a little black strapless dress! (Sorry, I know I'm not funny...) Happy New Year!

  2. I would share it with my 4 year old son. I'm raising him gay. It doesn't seem to be working, so maybe the capelet would help!

  12. I might be wearing it actually, but seeing as how some of the teddy bears I collect are rather nekkid around their furry necks, one of those critters might end up wearing it instead.

  15. i have been looking for ages to find a collar like this one. my cat would be happy to wear it!
no, really - how can anyone dislike this gorgeous capelet? maybe there is sth wrong with me but i fell in love at first sight! can you pick me? pleaaaaaase? :P i am mad about high and laced collars. so (obviously) i would wear it myself in every day life. i think it is very beautiful and it would fit my (wanna be) stlyle.
i am also a new follower, your blog is interesting (at least so far). i am not really a funny or lucky person but i hope i win anyway. :D thanks for a chance!

  16. Are you kidding? Who wouldn't want to win this beautiful capelet? This is what I would do: hide by big fat neck! Seriously I have had a complex about my neck ever since my mom told me I couldn't wear a cowl neck for my high school senior photo cuz it would emphasize my fat neck!

  17. damla: very cool! it is fairly goth, isn't it?

birgit: now there's one i hadn't thought of.

deanna: i had thought of giving it to my folks for one of their pitbulls... there's just not enough lace in the world to size it up for them!

masha: you are definitely making me laugh, especially the part about my blog being interesting... so far...

  18. And I am now a google follower (jhb) to show you how much I want to win this. You are seriously talented: that vintage closure is brilliant. Glad I found this giveaway and your blog.

  20. Dear oona! I was hesitating because this pretty thing would need some fee for international shipping. You were right and I was wrong, it's much better joining the party than sitting and moaning. Count me in!
P.S. You did great job on the blue dress!!!

  21. I love this amazing capelet! I would wear it with my old dress to make it look fresh and different!!!

  22. how comes everyone hates it? it's cute and it would look awesome with a semi turtle neck blouse or a high scoop neck tee. I would wear it anyway I can even if it means putting it on my head or strapping it in my thigh ;p

  28. Eh, it's definitely NOT my style either. But my sis....she would be all over this! She loves all that Victorian style stuff. And she's the only black girl I personally know that does Morris dancing! But we're both weirdos and complete NERDS, so we do and wear the unexpected!

    ReplyDelete
  29. hmmm i would wear it while fighting crime, victorian-style! (like Sherlock Holmes, perhaps?)

  33. I would love to wear it with a vampire costume and dress up as Jane (Dakota Fanning) of Twilight with red lenses. In my country we don't really celebrate Halloween so never got a chance to dress up as a vampire.

Also following your lovely blog :)

It's too big for my lizard and my turtles to boot...so I wrap on my cat to give me a hoot...she dance and she'd prance and she'd box and she'd glove...and out of her misery I'd help, cuz she's loved...then dust it off and wrap in my hair and listen to the exclaims of those everywhere..."Where did you get such a funkified cap?"..."Why...I won it from oonablallona...cuz that's where its at!!!"...heavensent1@yahoo dotcom
